I have a busy head. The thing that allows me to focus is art. When I'm painting or doing other forms of contemporary art, I am truly in the moment . When I studied art in college I heard about automatic writing and realized that as an artist this is my method. I put down every spontaneous thought before conceptualizing and logic takes over. Then at times I bring some meaning into the work. It's a way to tap into my subconscious.
Call me for a personal tour and meet the artist. You can view my contemporary art at my studio and have a better idea of the process. 520-312-7790
Hope you can support a local artist
Spent some years working with intaglio printmaking. You can still find me at the Print studio at Pima Community College,
After a trip to Santa Fe where I first saw encaustic paintings, I became obsessed with that process. As an artist I was excited to bring this process to my contemporary art.
As an artist,It doesn't matter to me if I use oil or acrylic or encaustic. I love putting paint on canvas or even wall art... My contemporary art can be abstract or representational.
When I travel I bring a sketch book, and watercolor pencils.
I have a cannon rebel camera, but love that I now have an iPhone to take pictures. Quite often I see things that attract me and I have to get the shot.
I love working with clay although lately I have not done too much, I have been doing mosaics and hope to incorporate both in the future,
